If you are planning to visit Venice with your family or some friends discoveringvenice.com is the web site you need.  Discoveringvenice is a web site formed by registered tour guides members of the authorized Association of Guides in Venice. The three of us love art and history and are graduated in these subjects. We have been organizing tours in Venice in English, Spanish and Italian since we became authorized guides in 2000.  Discoveringvenice.com offers a wide range of city tours, many different ways to approach the city on foot or by boat. If you have never visited Venice you can choose the itinerary “Classic Venice” and we will  show you the historical highlights of the city belonging to the ancient Serenissima Republic: Saint Mark’s Basilica and the unique Doge’s Palace, bridge of Sighs and old prisons. Another must is the “Rialto” tour where you can breathe the acient mercantile flavour of the city but at the same time see one of most pictoresque food market in Italy.

Visiting the old Venetian districts, the “sestieri”, with your guide you will have the privilege to get in touch with unusual areas of the city and with its handcraft and daily life but always with an eye to its past full of history and art. Together we can visit the monumental Gran Canal by private boat or have a nice trip sailing the Venetian lagoon and stopping in its famous islands, Murano Burano and Torcello. If you are interested in art we can take you to visit the beautiful Accademia Galleries, Peggy Guggenheim Collection and all the other Venetian art galleries and museums. We also have a guide specialized in contemporary art who can take you to the new prestigious contemporary art center at palazzo Grassi and Punta della Dogana opened since June 2009.
