The Lake Garda, ideal holiday place September 7, 2008

The Lake Garda is one of the most important lake of Italy, located between Lombardy and Veneto region, it covers a vast area that goes from Peschiera del Garda (not far from Verona) up to the north at Riva not far from the great Alps mountains. Each zone has its own typical micro climate, and generally speaking, expecially on the south part of the Lake Garda the moderate climate it is noticeable also by the growth of typical Mediterranean vegetation, lemon trees, olive trees but even palms and oleanders.

The hills nearby Florence are something to be seen at least once, tranquillity, beautiful landscapes, delicious Italian food are only some of the main reasons to spend some time here, but I guess once tested it will be hard not to dream a return! One of the most typical accommodation in Tuscany is surely the “ Agriturismo “ a farm holiday, Villa I Barronci is a place to stay, I would say a must, located in the splendid San Casciano in Val di Pesa, in the Florence’s hills where famous Chianti vineyards grows.

 

The name of I Barronci has an ancient tradition taken from the very first owners of the place on the XII century, nowadays this beautiful building is at disposal offering rooms standard, superior and even beautiful suites, all with private bathroom, soundproof, air conditioning and heat, mini bar facility and wired internet , in sum all the in-room commodities of a nice modern structure supporting any kind of need. Breakfast is served every morning with incredibly amount of fresh products, fruits, home made brioches cakes and so on… in the evening at the restaurant in a friendly atmosphere, typical local dishes are served all accompanied with superb local wines, from Chianti Classico (of course) to Brunello di Montalcino or any other “super Tuscan”!.

 

A special mention I have to reserve it to the beautiful open air swimming pool, with a corner dedicated to hydro massage, the beauty of this place is hard to be explained in words !

 

San Casciano in Val di Pesa is very close to Florence only about 15 Km, but even the rest of the most important Tuscany cities are not far.
