If you are planning to have a great holiday with a great Sea, Italy and more precisely Sicily will just be the solution. In the extreme south of Sicily, you will find Pozzallo, a small city facing the Sea, a place with a fantastic climate, the typical Mediterranean climate not too hot in summer thanks to its mild refreshing winds.

Pozzallo is a less known place, however not for this reason is to be avoided from your consideration not only for a “Sea/beach” vacation, although it is surely not the largest city here you will have multiple interesting things to do and to visit, and I am sure your week holiday will pass as quick as you can never expect.

For instance Pozzallo has interesting monuments, such as Villas, churches and Palazzos, and of course the most important, the Torre Cabrera, a national monument and symbol of the city (assigned origins form 1429). If you are not very keen on architecture and you prefere folkloristic sides and food related festivals, no problem Pozzallo has very traditonal ones, and maybe the most important is the “Sagra del pesce” (fish festival), on during the week of mid August. An enormous pan, 4 meters diameter, is prepared to cook tipical local fish.

To experience all the above, having always the Sea as a main option the Bed and Breakfast Zagara is a fantastic solution, located just 300 meters from the “Pietre nere” beach, so no problem to reach it. Umbria region has quite always been considered a secondary solution to Tuscany for many people aiming to have a country side holiday .

Nothing more wrong than that! Umbria is in my opinion one of the most beautiful region of the center of Italy with its own peculiar identity, and therefore nothing to envy to the more celebrated Tuscany.

Umbria is a great please were to have a very typical country side vacation, for all those of you who like any kind of excursion, say for instance by bike (Mountain bike), horse riding and so on.

B & B da Viviana between Tuscany and Emilian Apennine November 29, 2008

There is a great B & B in Monteduro Italy, between the famous beautiful Tuscany region and Emilian region where the mountains Appenines are, infact this small town is at 850 meters on Sea level.

 As you may imagine this magical place is a little paradise where nice untouched places and authentic Italian atmosphere can still be experienced, unlikely many other places in Italy spoiled by modernity and massive tourism.

 

The closest city to B&B da Viviana is Castelnuovo ne’ Monti the real “hub” of the entire Appenine area, a nice place where it is easy to get anything needed and to organise daily activities during your stay.

 

For those who have no exact idea of what to do and which kind of place is this one, my suggestion is regarded for people who are mainly interested in natural activites like trekking, free climbing, mountain biking and mainly an active life style, a place where nice fresh air is. Mountains or the splendid rock cliff “Pietra di Bismantova” is something very interesting to see as well, so indeed the naturalistic part is the most important for this gorgeous place.

 

Last, but not least, a special mention to the B and B owned and run by the charming and helpful Viviana, place ideal for couples, families or simply friends, thanks to its comfortable and quiet rooms all with private bathroom, but also a private external parking for cars and covered parking for motorcyclists. Prices are very interesting and they become even more interesting for longer stays… what else to say? Try, you will fully enjoy I am sure!
