Bed & Breakfast Gallipoli – Santa Venardìa June 8, 2008

Gallipoli it is surely a place where to go for a relaxing holiday, however being an historical place, can be considered also for cultural visits too, just to mention, the Angioino Castle, the beautiful fountain of Greek origin and much more.

Gallipoli in fact has a long history, first being under Greek domination. Indeed however, the main reason of visitors nowadays is the beautiful crystal clear Sea with its sandy beaches.

A good accommodation can be the Bed & Breakfast Santa Venardìa because it is really close to the Sea. If you go with a family or you are with some friends all together I would suggest to try their apartment which is really comfortable and includes 2 bedrooms, kitchen, bathroom and balcony. The private parking facility is very comfortable for those arriving by car. Gallipoli is reacheable by plane with the closest airport in Brindisi, by train with Trenitalia until Lecce and then changing to ferrovie sud/est.

Puglia is  located in the middle of the Mediterranean Sea, for its particularly favorable location and climate has always historically been an active zone of commercial and cultural exchanges, nowadays has even become a great travel destination.

The history of Puglia territory has been deeply signed by domination of different populations Greeks, Romans, Byzantines, Arabs, French and Spanish all giving and leaving tangible signs of their domination on the land, architectures and culture. In Puglia it easy to find Castles, towers, cathedrals and many other elements built following style and art very different from each other as per the above mentioned dominations.

Even a great difference in language dialects and traditions are noticeable in the major areas of Puglia region which are: Capitanata Foggia area, Terra di Bari (Bari’s Land) Bari area, Salento Brindisi and Lecce areas, Terra Jonica (Jonio Land) Taranto area for this reason the Puglia region was called “Le Puglie” which in Italian is plural meaning the different tradition within the same region.
